01What are cookies

A cookie is a small file that your browser stores when you visit a website. When you return to that site, your browser sends the cookies back, so the site recognizes you.

Cookies are harmless — they are not programs, do not execute themselves, and do nothing on your computer. They are just text data, words and numbers that websites read to give you a better service.

On the website partidulnostru.md, we use three categories of cookies:

  • Essential — without them, the website cannot function. They do not depend on your consent.
  • Analytics — they help us understand how the site is used. They depend on your consent.
  • Marketing — they track the effectiveness of ads. They depend on your consent.

02Essential cookies — no consent needed

These cookies keep the website running. We cannot provide the service without them, so we do not ask your permission — they work anyway.

NEXT_LOCALEOur websiteRemembers the language you chose (Romanian, Russian, or English). Without it, you would return to the default language on every visit.Session (until you close the browser)
__Secure-next-auth.session-tokenOur websiteKeeps you signed in after you log in to an account. Visitors stay signed in for 30 days; administrators for 8 hours of inactivity. Without it, you would be signed out on every new page.30 days
__Host-next-auth.csrf-tokenOur websitePrevents a form from being submitted in your name from another website.Session (until you close the browser)
__Secure-next-auth.callback-urlOur websiteRemembers the page you should be returned to after signing in.Session (until you close the browser)

reCAPTCHA: on pages with forms (contact, questions, donations, subscriptions), reCAPTCHA loads even before you make a choice — to prevent automated submissions. It does not set cookies in your browser, but makes connections to Google servers from the moment the page opens. This is part of the page’s security, not marketing.

localStorage, not cookies: your consent choice (which categories you accepted) is stored in a local file on your computer, in the browser's localStorage, with the key pn_consent. It is different from a cookie and is not sent to the server — it stays on your computer and only your browser reads it.

03Analytics cookies — with your consent

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages interest them. This helps us know whether our communication reaches people and what could be improved.

Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser. Both are necessary to count visits correctly — if you accept analytics, you get both; if you refuse, neither is set.

In the same analytics category falls the Google Map on the Contact page — it only loads if you have accepted the category.

_ga_MB999TSYMRGoogle AnalyticsKeeps track of the current session state for our Google Analytics property.2 years

04Marketing cookies — with your consent

We use the Facebook pixel (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to see whether our Facebook ads reach people. The pixel sets two cookies in your browser; they are the same as those in ads, so Facebook knows you visited our site.

In the same marketing category falls the Facebook window on the homepage (live feed from our page) — it only loads if you have accepted the category.

_fbcMeta PixelRecords that the visit originated from a Facebook ad (fbclid parameter in the link).90 days

05How to change your choice

You can change which categories you accept at any time — it is not permanent. There are four ways:

  1. Open the consent banner again with the “Cookie Settings” button in the footer.
  2. Go to the Cookie Settings page — a table with all cookies and toggles for each category.
  3. Delete cookies manually from your browser settings — most browsers have a “Cookies” section where you can see and delete what you want.
  4. Contact us at [email protected] to change your preference.

When you withdraw consent: if you take back permission for analytics or marketing, we delete the cookies of that category from your browser. Your browser does not tell us exactly which domain a cookie was set on — only that we have it — so we delete on all subdomains our scripts might use. If a cookie was set on an unusual domain, it may remain in your browser until it expires naturally (which is usually in a few months).

07Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when we add new cookies or when laws change. The “updated” date above shows when it was last modified. If the change is important, we will show you the banner again to get your consent.
