Punishment of the ruling party PAS officials who tried to influence the investigation of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office was demanded by the chairman of "Our Party" Renato Usatii. The politician said this after the head of the prosecutor's office Veronica Dragalin made scandalous revelations about the abuses of the current government.

"After the loud statements of the head of the PA Veronica Dragalin about attempts to interfere in criminal investigations by PAS representatives, we are all waiting for concrete actions from her. The society is waiting not only for the announcement of the names of the guilty, but also for their immediate prosecution," Usatii said.

Otherwise, the politician believes that Dragalin's words will remain just a shaking of the air, a screen to cover lawlessness, which in itself is an abuse of power.

"I have repeatedly said: the Moldovan judicial system is subordinated to a narrow circle of people, and the political influence on it is obvious. We have evidence that court decisions are made under pressure from those in the periphery of power. Mayors representing other parties are persecuted just because they do not want to be part of PAS," Usatii said.

The Our Party leader says that now Dragalin has the chance to prove that justice in the country can be truly independent and fair.

"And if she does not take this chance and continues to work in the interests of PAS, "we are more likely to see her resignation than real investigations against those who are destroying Moldova's judicial system," the politician concluded.
