Renato Usatii, Chairman of Our Party (OP), made a number of high-profile statements about the activities of an international criminal group, which, according to him, caused billions of lei in damage to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

According to the OP press release, the politician said that he had gained access to the internal data and correspondence of the fraudulent network. Of the approximately one million victims of its actions worldwide, about 100,000 are Moldovan citizens.

Usatii demonstrated the interface of the system, which, according to him, contains data on victims of fraud, including the amount of damage, as well as copies of bank cards, passports and identity cards.

"They tested the scheme in 2021, then the amount of stolen funds increased to millions of dollars. We are talking about hundreds of millions of dollars stolen from Moldovan citizens," the MP said.

According to him, the criminal scheme is structured in such a way that victims are subsequently tried to engage in illegal activities under the pretext of returning lost funds.

The NP Chairman criticized the work of government agencies and announced his intention to provide additional evidence regarding the possible involvement of individual politicians and officials in the operation of such schemes.

Usatii paid special attention to a new fraud scheme aimed at minors. According to him, the attackers pose as law enforcement officers and convince children to participate in so-called "secret missions", gaining access to money, bank cards and personal data of families. In this regard, the politician called on parents and relatives of the elderly to activate the function of blocking calls from unknown numbers on mobile phones, calling it one of the most effective measures to protect against telephone fraud.

Usatii also called for the creation of a national center that should coordinate the actions of government agencies, promptly inform the public about new fraud schemes and receive citizens' requests through a specialized hotline. The politician said that in the near future he intends to provide additional materials and details regarding the activities of the international criminal network.
