Our Party will not participate in the consultations convened by President Maia Sandu to nominate a new candidate for the post of Prime Minister. This was stated by its leader Renato Usatii.
He believes that "the Republic of Moldova needs either a government of professionals formed with the participation of various political forces, both parliamentary and extra—parliamentary, or early parliamentary elections."
"Consultations with the president make sense only if there is a real intention to find a solution for the country, and in the current situation they are just a formality. Unfortunately, what we are witnessing today is nothing more than a formality. Even the date and time of these consultations were not discussed with the parliamentary factions. They were simply confronted with the fact, which once again indicates the absence of a real political dialogue," Our Party said in a statement.
According to the authors, even worse is that "this practice has not changed for more than 34 years of independence."
"Informal consultations are taking place first. Decisions are being made, a candidate is being determined, and political agreements are being reached. And only after that, the official consultations provided for by the Constitution are convened. By this point, they can no longer change anything and turn only into a ceremony of approving a previously made decision. (...) The question is being asked only because the procedure requires it. The groom's last name is known in advance. So is the answer. "Our party will not participate in this formality and will not legitimize another episode of the political spectacle of power".
He noted that his predictions about the instability of Alexandr Munteanu's government, voiced back in February, were confirmed, although many experts close to the government categorically rejected such a possibility of resignation.
"Today, I am equally responsible in stating that the current candidate for the post of prime Minister has a very specific task, and, in my opinion, he should work until the beginning of 2027. Therefore, instead of preparing for the twenty-third political wedding, it is better to start preparing for early parliamentary elections now. The citizens of the Republic of Moldova are tired of being guests at the same political wedding and having to pay the bill every time," concluded Renato Usatii.

"Our Party" is an extraparliamentary opposition political formation, positioning itself as a pro-Moldovan party advocating for a balanced foreign policy between East and West. We are convinced that for the Republic of Moldova today, the priority is not geopolitics, but solving the country's and its citizens' problems.
