The parliamentary faction of Our Party proposes to create a special investigative commission in parliament to check the expenses of state institutions during the state of emergency.  This proposal was made at a press conference by the vice-chairman of the faction, Elena Gritco, noting that the draft resolution has already been registered with the Parliamentary Secretariat.

"We propose to create a commission that should review all purchases and public expenditures made by ministries and institutions during the state of emergency of 2022-2023, imposed against the backdrop of the energy crisis and the war in Ukraine. The purpose of the commission is to identify possible overpriced prices, conflicts of interest, and companies selected for procurement. People have the right to know the truth: where their money went and who took advantage of the crisis," Gritco stressed.

Representatives of the faction note that the creation of a commission to investigate the management of public funds during the state of emergency is the first step towards restoring public confidence in government institutions.

"Public money does not belong to politicians, but to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova," concluded Gritco.

According to the legislation, after the end of the state of emergency period, which is imposed by a decision of Parliament, the Prime Minister is obliged to submit a report on actions and expenses from the rostrum of Parliament, as well as answer questions from deputies. However, Prime Minister Dorin Recean did not submit such a report, despite the demands of the opposition.
